Background information about '34.788% Complete'

My Dying Bride returns with their seventh studio masterpiece, "34.788% Complete", a haunting journey through the darkest corridors of doom metal that showcases the Yorkshire legends at their most introspective and emotionally devastating. This album finds the band exploring new depths of melancholy, weaving together their signature violin melodies with crushing guitar work that feels both familiar and refreshingly evolved. The opening epic "The Whore, The Cook And The Mother" sets the tone with nearly twelve minutes of pure atmospheric despair, while tracks like "Heroin Chic" and "Apocalypse Woman" demonstrate the band's ability to craft shorter yet equally impactful compositions.

What makes this release particularly special is how My Dying Bride manages to balance their trademark lengthy compositions with more concise expressions of sorrow. The German-titled "Der Überlebende" stands as a testament to their international appeal, while the bonus track "Follower" provides an additional layer of completeness to this already comprehensive statement. Aaron Stainthorpe's vocals have never sounded more tortured or beautiful, perfectly complementing the band's refined approach to doom metal that influenced countless bands in the genre.
