Background information about 'VII'
Polish black metal veterans Nebiros unleash their seventh full-length offering with "VII", a brutal testament to their decades-long commitment to the darkest corners of extreme metal. This 12-track opus showcases the band's evolution while staying true to their raw, uncompromising roots that have made them stalwarts of the Polish underground scene. The album opens with an ominous intro before diving headfirst into tracks like "Zakon Czarny" and "Boga Ciało", where tremolo-picked guitars weave through blast beats and guttural vocals delivered entirely in Polish, creating an atmosphere that's both menacing and deeply rooted in Slavic darkness.
The production on "VII" strikes that perfect balance between clarity and rawness that modern black metal demands, allowing each instrument to cut through the mix while maintaining the genre's essential grimness. Songs like "Galaxis" and "Na Placu Piekła" demonstrate Nebiros' ability to craft memorable riffs within their chaotic framework, while the closing "Outro" provides a haunting conclusion to this sonic journey through Polish black metal's shadowy landscapes. The album's 52-minute runtime never feels excessive, with each track serving its purpose in building toward a cohesive statement of intent.
