Background information about 'Carry the Beast'
Carry the Beast is Nocturnal Breed doing what they have always done best: kicking the door in, cranking the amps past reasonable and letting the riffs do the talking. This is thrash metal with dirt under its fingernails, the kind that smells of spilled beer, worn leather and a rehearsal room that has never once seen a cleaning cloth. The Norwegian veterans know exactly where the gas pedal is, and they keep it pinned from the first riff to the last, trading razor-sharp tremolo picking for grooves that swing like a wrecking ball.
What makes the record such a good time is how unapologetically it wears its influences. There is early-80s speed metal in the twin-guitar attack, a healthy dose of blackened grit in the vocals, and a rhythm section that refuses to sit still for even a bar. Nothing here is polished for radio; it is built for a sweaty basement, a raised fist and a chorus you can shout along to with your voice already shot. The production keeps the edges rough on purpose, and that is precisely the point.
