Background information about 'The Ascent & The Hunger'
Palantyr has forged something absolutely electrifying with "The Ascent & The Hunger" – a blistering collision of their previous EP tracks with three brand-new anthems that'll leave your ears ringing and your fists permanently raised. This French heavy/speed metal powerhouse doesn't just pay homage to the old gods; they're writing their own commandments in molten steel.
What sets this release apart is the sheer audacity of Palantyr's vision. Athena's commanding vocals cut through the mix like a battle cry, leading the charge over riffs that marry the ferocity of classic speed metal with an epic grandeur that's utterly their own. The standout cover of Paul Roland's "Nosferatu" gets the full speed metal treatment, transformed into a high-octane monster that proves this band can take any material and make it bleed heavy metal. The remaining new tracks showcase Palantyr at their most intense yet melodically rich, delivering choruses that demand immediate singalongs and guitar work that'll have you air-guitaring until your arms give out.
