Background information about 'Few Against Many'

There are bands that play heavy metal, and then there are bands that live it. Firewind have been living it for over a decade by the time Few Against Many hit the shelves, and you can feel every mile of that road in these songs. Gus G. steps up here not just as one of the most underrated shredders of his generation, but as a songwriter who knows exactly when to let a riff breathe and when to let it explode.

The record opens with the pummeling "Wall of Sound," and honestly, the title says it all — it's a statement of intent. Apollo Papathanasio's voice soars over the double-bass assault, and from there the band barely lets up. "Losing My Mind" and the title track are pure, chest-out anthems built for festival stages, while "The Undying Fire" and "Glorious" show off the band's melodic side without ever losing the edge. There's a real sense of urgency here, a band firing on all cylinders and clearly having the time of their lives doing it.

What makes Few Against Many special is the balance. "Edge of a Dream" brings a touch of melancholy and dynamics, while "No Heroes, No Sinners" is the kind of fist-in-the-air closer that stays with you for days. And this limited edition sweetens the deal with two bonus tracks, including a gorgeous acoustic version of "No Heroes, No Sinners" that strips the song down to its raw, emotional core. This is power metal with heart, chops and hooks in equal measure.
