Background information about 'Ufång'

Emerging from the mystical landscapes of Tyrol, Austria, Perchta's debut album "Ufång" envelops listeners in a rich tapestry of pagan lore and elemental power. Each track is a tribute to the natural elements—earth, wind, fire, and water—crafted in an evocative blend of traditional folk and atmospheric black metal. The album's sonic landscape is as diverse as its themes, combining tempestuous tremolo riffs with ritualistic chants that resonate with ancient wisdom.

The album not only serves as a musical homage to the goddess Perchta but also stands as a cultural beacon preserving regional traditions. Its intricate compositions mirror the multifaceted character of Perchta herself: both nurturing and destructive. The live performances are equally mesmerizing, featuring theatrical elements such as driftwood stage props and elaborate costumes. "Ufång" invites those who dare to explore the depths of ancestral memory and the raw beauty of nature.
