Background information about 'Wake Up The Wicked'
Powerwolf returns with their most ferocious offering yet on "Wake Up The Wicked", delivering eleven tracks of pure symphonic power metal mayhem that'll make your speakers weep tears of joy. The German werewolves have outdone themselves this time, crafting an album that's both brutally heavy and melodically infectious, with Attila Dorn's operatic vocals soaring over crushing riffs and thunderous orchestrations. From the opening battle cry of "Bless 'em With the Blade" to the epic closer "Vargamor", this is Powerwolf firing on all cylinders, blending their signature religious imagery with tales of maritime adventure and medieval mysticism.
The production here is absolutely pristine, allowing every symphonic flourish and guitar harmony to cut through the mix with surgical precision. Tracks like "Sinners of the Seven Seas" and the title track "Wake Up the Wicked" showcase the band's ability to write anthems that are both stadium-ready and utterly devastating, while deeper cuts like "1589" and "Joan of Arc" reveal their storytelling prowess. The album flows seamlessly from start to finish, each song building upon the last to create an epic journey through Powerwolf's twisted universe of holy metal warfare.
