Background information about 'In Times New Roman...'
Queens of the Stone Age return with their eighth studio album "In Times New Roman...", marking their first full-length release in six years since 2017's "Villains". The desert rock legends have crafted another collection of their signature heavy, groove-laden tracks that showcase the band's evolution while staying true to their roots. Josh Homme's distinctive vocals and guitar work anchor the album, supported by the tight rhythm section that has become synonymous with QOTSA's sound. The album explores themes of time, mortality and reflection with the band's characteristic blend of stoner rock heaviness and accessible melodies.
The production maintains that crisp, punchy quality fans have come to expect, with each track offering something unique while contributing to a cohesive listening experience. From crushing riffs to more introspective moments, "In Times New Roman..." demonstrates why Queens of the Stone Age remain one of the most influential bands in modern rock. The album feels both familiar and fresh, proving that the band hasn't lost their edge during their extended hiatus. This release solidifies their position as masters of their craft, delivering another essential addition to their already impressive catalog.
