Background information about 'Rebirth Of Skull'
Riverge delivers a crushing blow to the thrash metal scene with "Rebirth Of Skull", an album that feels like it was forged in the fires of the Bay Area's golden era. From the explosive opener "Thought Free" to the relentless pummeling of tracks like "Till I Die" and "What A Creature!", this German outfit proves they've got the chops to hang with the genre's heavyweights. The production is raw yet polished enough to let every riff cut through like a razor blade, while the rhythm section pounds with the precision of a sledgehammer. What really sets this apart is how Riverge manages to capture that classic 80s thrash fury without sounding like a mere tribute act.
The album's second half maintains the intensity with standouts like "Dual Attack" and "Slavish Charge" showcasing the band's ability to craft memorable hooks within their sonic assault. The inclusion of two bonus tracks - "Damned World" and a live version of "A And A" - adds extra value for thrash maniacs hungry for more. The songwriting strikes that perfect balance between technical prowess and raw aggression that made the genre legendary, with each track offering something unique while maintaining the album's cohesive brutal atmosphere.
