Jewelcase CD with 16 page booklet.

Background information about 'Carolus Rex'

There are concept albums, and then there's Carolus Rex — a thunderous, unapologetic history lesson set to the pounding march of heavy metal artillery. Sabaton didn't just write songs about the rise and fall of the Swedish Empire; they built a monument to it. From the opening canon blast of "Dominium Maris Baltici" to the melancholic yet defiant closer "Ruina Imperii," this album is a journey through blood, glory, and the cold winds of the Baltic.

What makes Carolus Rex truly special is the sheer theatrical weight behind every track. "The Lion From The North" roars with the energy of a cavalry charge, while "A Lifetime Of War" strips away the romanticism and lays bare the human cost of empire. The title track is nothing short of an anthem — regal, bombastic, and sung with the kind of chest-puffing pride that only Sabaton can pull off without tipping into parody. Joakim Brodén's unmistakable baritone carries the weight of a king and the sorrow of a soldier in equal measure. The production is crisp, the riffs are razor-sharp, and the rhythm section hits like a volley of musket fire. This isn't just power metal — it's historical warfare turned into sound.
