Background information about 'Stormcrowfleet (30th Anniversary Edition)'
Skepticism's legendary debut "Stormcrowfleet" stands as an unshakeable monument in the pantheon of funeral doom metal. Originally released in 1995, this masterpiece didn't just define a genre – it carved out an entirely new emotional landscape where crushing heaviness meets profound spiritual contemplation. Now, three decades later, this 30th anniversary edition presents the album in its most definitive form yet, newly mixed from the original tape reels by Anssi Kippo at Astia Studio.
What makes this reissue truly special isn't just the improved sonic clarity, but the inclusion of two previously vinyl-exclusive bonus tracks from the 1994 demo cassette "AEOTHE KAEAR" – "The Rising of the Flames (1994)" and "Chorale (1994)" – cut directly from the original studio master tapes. The band's vision remains untouched; nothing was added or changed from the original recordings, but the remix benefits from over two decades of extreme metal engineering tradition. This anniversary edition also features a special booklet illustrating the making of the album, offering fans unprecedented insight into the creation of this doom metal milestone.
