Background information about 'The Ride Majestic'

There is a moment about forty seconds into the title track where Soilwork simply let go of the brakes, and everything that follows on "The Ride Majestic" feels like it was built for that exact rush. This is the record where the Swedes stopped apologising for their melodies and started weaponising them — the twin guitars of Sylvain Coudret and David Andersson weave and dart around each other like they are finishing one another's sentences, while Björn "Speed" Strid delivers the most emotionally exposed performance of his career. He screams, he soars, he croons, and somehow it all belongs to the same breath.

What makes this album such a thrill is how restless it is. "Alight In The Aftermath" kicks the door in with a riff that could level a small building, then suddenly opens into a chorus you will be humming for a week. "Death In General" and "Enemies In Fidelity" pile on the groove without ever losing the sharp melodic edge, and "Petrichor By Sulphur" is the kind of slow-burning epic that reminds you these guys grew up on the best of both the Gothenburg scene and classic heavy metal. The band sounds hungry, loose and completely in command, and the production gives every layer room to breathe without sanding off the grit.
