Background information about 'Hear'
Temptress explode onto the scene with "hear" – a sonic manifesto that defies easy categorization and demands your full attention. This trio has crafted something genuinely special here, weaving together drone, doom, post-rock, grunge, and hardcore into a cohesive tapestry that flows like molten metal through your speakers. The album churns with searing hooks and dissonant grooves, creating an irresistible confluence that showcases the band's endless ideas and nuances.
What makes "hear" so compelling is how Temptress manages to be bombastic yet delicate, crushing yet ethereal, driving yet dark – all at once. Their vast live experience (200+ shows in their relatively short tenure) translates perfectly into these recordings, where every element slips into place with surgical precision. The liquid metal assassin approach obliterates and flows in equal measure, creating moments of devastating beauty alongside crushing heaviness.
