Background information about 'The Exalted Kings'
The Cosmic Dead returns with their sophomore masterpiece "The Exalted King", a towering monument to psychedelic exploration that pushes the boundaries of cosmic consciousness. This Scottish collective has crafted something truly transcendent here – a sonic journey split across two epic compositions that unfold like ancient rituals performed in the depths of space. The title track stretches across two parts, creating a hypnotic tapestry of droning guitars, thunderous rhythms, and otherworldly atmospherics that build to crushing crescendos before dissolving into ethereal passages of pure sonic bliss.
The second half of this cosmic odyssey introduces us to "Anatta", "Khartomb", and "Anaphora" – three interconnected pieces that showcase the band's mastery of dynamic shifts and textural layering. Each track flows seamlessly into the next, creating an unbroken meditation on existence and transcendence. The production captures every nuance of their expansive sound, from the subtlest drone to the most earth-shaking climax. This repress ensures that this essential piece of modern psychedelic art remains accessible to those ready to embark on this mind-expanding journey.
