Background information about 'Crowned In Blood'
THIS ENDING have never been ones to shy away from the crushing weight of death metal's darker corners, and with "Crowned In Blood" they deliver a record that feels like a war march through the catacombs. The Swedish outfit, featuring former members of Amon Amarth and A Canorous Quintet, brings every ounce of their seasoned experience to the table. From the very first riffs of the title track, it's clear this is no half-hearted affair — these are songs built for the stage, for the pit, for those who live and breathe heavy music.
The album strikes a beautiful balance between melodic death metal's soaring leads and the raw, unpolished aggression of old-school Swedish death. Tracks like "Birth Of Evil" and "Devils" hit with a groove that's both menacing and infectious, while "A Venomous Prison" slows things down just enough to let the atmosphere breathe. The production is crisp without being sterile, allowing every double-bass kick and guttural roar to land with proper weight. There's a sense of urgency here, a band that sounds hungry and focused. This is death metal played with conviction, not just technicality — and that makes all the difference.
