Background information about 'Summoning Black Gods'

German death metal outfit Chapel of Disease delivers a crushing testament to old-school brutality with "Summoning Black Gods". This album showcases the band's mastery of traditional death metal craftsmanship, weaving together atmospheric darkness with relentless aggression. The eight tracks presented here demonstrate a perfect balance between technical proficiency and raw, primal energy that harks back to the golden era of the genre. From the ominous opener "Summoning Black Gods" to the haunting closer "The Loved Dead", each composition builds upon Lovecraftian themes and occult imagery, creating an immersive sonic journey through realms of cosmic horror.

The production quality strikes that sweet spot between clarity and filth, allowing every riff to cut through while maintaining the grimy atmosphere essential to authentic death metal. Tracks like "The Nameless City" and "Evocation Of The Father" showcase the band's ability to craft memorable hooks without sacrificing the genre's inherent brutality. The rhythm section provides a thunderous foundation that drives each song forward with relentless precision, while the guitar work alternates between crushing palm-muted passages and melodic interludes that add depth to the overall composition.
