What a crushing debut! Tongue from Bielefeld delivers an absolutely devastating first statement that'll leave your speakers smoking and your neighbors filing noise complaints. This self-titled monster clocks in at just over 42 minutes, but every second is packed with the kind of ferocious black metal that makes you remember why you fell in love with extreme music in the first place. From the ominous minute-long opener "Dune Shaper" to the epic 12-minute closer "A Vessel For The Voices", these Germans craft atmospheric black metal that's both punishing and surprisingly nuanced.

The album flows like a dark ritual, with each track building upon the last to create something truly special. "In The First Light Of False Dawn" sets the tone with its eight-minute assault of tremolo-picked riffs and blast beats, while "The Desert Hears You" showcases the band's ability to weave melody into their maelstrom of chaos. What sets Tongue apart from the countless bedroom black metal projects flooding the scene is their understanding of dynamics – they know when to pummel and when to breathe, creating an album that's as captivating as it is crushing.
