Founded by Samoth and Ihsahn in 1991, this death metal entity predates their world-famous black metal project, offering a fascinating glimpse into the duo's formative years when they were still carving their path through tenebrous death metal territories.

"Into The Woods Of Belial" compiles the complete Thou Shalt Suffer legacy: the five-track rehearsal, the "Open The Mysteries Of Your Creation" EP, and the titular demo. But here's where it gets absolutely mental – Darkness Shall Rise has unearthed previously unreleased material from Xerasia and Embryonic, including the legendary "The Land Of The Lost Souls" demo from 1990.
