Background information about 'Hollow'
What happens when you gather some of the most revered voices in doom and death metal for one monumental collaboration? Tomorrow's Rain delivers the answer with "Hollow", a devastating double LP that reads like a who's who of extreme metal royalty. This Israeli collective has assembled an absolutely staggering lineup of guest musicians, featuring Aaron Stainthrope from My Dying Bride, Greg Mackintosh of Paradise Lost, Jeff Loomis from Arch Enemy/Nevermore, and Fernando Ribeiro of Moonspell, among others.
The album flows like a river of melancholy and crushing heaviness, with tracks like "Trees" and "Fear" showcasing the band's ability to weave intricate doom passages with moments of breathtaking beauty. The inclusion of an acoustic version of "Fear" as a bonus track demonstrates their versatility beyond the crushing riffs. Each guest appearance feels purposeful rather than gratuitous, with Jeff Loomis contributing to a particularly moving memorial piece dedicated to the late Warrel Dane. The production captures every nuance of this emotional journey, from the haunting keyboards to the thunderous rhythm section.
