Background information about 'Woods 5: Grey Skies & Electric Light'

Woods Of Ypres' final album before the tragic passing of frontman David Gold is an opus of doom and sorrow. 'Woods 5: Grey Skies & Electric Light' weaves a tapestry of melancholic lyrics and haunting melodies, creating a poignant reflection on the nature of life and death. The album's soundscape is a blend of Black Metal's intensity with Doom Metal's somber ambiance, offering an introspective journey for its listeners.

With tracks like 'Lightning & Snow' and 'Silver', the album stands as a testament to the band's ability to craft deeply emotive music that resonates long after the final note fades. The juxtaposition of heavy riffs against soft, melodic passages showcases their mastery in blending genres, making this record a fitting tribute to Gold's legacy.
