Background information about 'The Skull'
Released in 1985, 'The Skull' is a monumental testament to Trouble's ability to blend doom and heavy metal with finesse. The album stands as a profound exploration of themes like despair, faith, and redemption. Each track plunges deep into the human psyche, underpinned by the crushing weight of distorted riffs and the haunting vocals of Eric Wagner.
The album opens with 'Pray For The Dead', setting a brooding tone that is carried throughout. The tracks weave intricate guitar work with powerful rhythm sections, providing a rich sonic backdrop for introspective lyrics. With standout tracks like 'Fear No Evil' and the epic 'The Wish', 'The Skull' cements its place as a cornerstone of the doom metal genre.
