The wolves have returned, and they're howling in frequencies we've never heard before. "Neverland" represents Ulver's fourteenth studio album and perhaps their most liberating sonic expedition yet. After three consecutive releases rooted in traditional song structures, the Norwegian shapeshifters have embraced what they call a more "punk spirit" – trading discipline for dreams, structure for pure sonic wanderlust.

This is Ulver unleashed from their own expectations, diving headfirst into a collage of dreams where premillennial IDM ghosts dance with post-rock meandering. Bursts of daybreak synths cascade into whooshes of ambient mysticism, while trippy percussive energies pulse beneath lush, exotic soundscapes. The largely instrumental "Neverland" feels like stumbling into that magical space where Aphex Twin's digital fever dreams meet Godspeed You! Black Emperor's cinematic sprawl. It's pop music from in-between worlds, a sonic hallucination that echoes their acclaimed "Perdition City" while charting entirely new territory.
