Background information about 'Substrate Haruspex'

Velnias have always operated in their own sphere, and with "Substrate Haruspex" they push that vision even further. Recorded in 2024 between Denver's World Famous Studios and Nederland's Tvirtove in Colorado, this fourth studio album is a dense, atmospheric descent into the unraveling and reconstruction of the self beneath the vastness of an infinitely unfolding macrocosm. The eight monumental tracks that make up this record function as invocations, heralding the expulsion of delusion and the splintering of the constructs that confine us. It is heavy, ritualistic, and utterly absorbing from the first note to the last.

Mixed by Stephen Parker (Maestus, Pillorian, Paraphilia) and mastered by Greg Chandler of Esoteric fame, "Substrate Haruspex" finds Velnias at the peak of their powers. Their unique blend of iconoclastic folk doom has never sounded more confident or more expansive. Tracks like "Impetus Arcanum" and "Divination of Simulacra" weave together crushing riffs, haunting melodies, and an almost ceremonial sense of purpose. This is music for those who seek depth, atmosphere, and something that transcends the everyday. A truly remarkable evolution of a band that refuses to stand still.
