Background information about 'Stigma'
Wage War have always been a band that swings for the fences, and "Stigma" is them connecting with a haymaker. The Florida outfit built its name on riffs that hit like a wrecking ball and choruses you can scream from the back of a packed room, and here that formula gets sharper, darker and a whole lot more desperate. The guitars are tuned low enough to rattle your ribcage, the rhythms snap and lurch with a precision that never feels sterile, and the clean-and-caught vocal trade-off lands with genuine emotional weight instead of cheap dynamics. It is heavy music made by people who clearly still love heavy music.
What makes this record stick, though, is the songwriting. Nothing here is padding. Every breakdown earns its place, every melodic lift feels like a release valve rather than a radio bid, and the hooks burrow in on first listen and refuse to leave. There is a restlessness running through the whole thing, a band refusing to just repeat the record that got them here. Turn it up loud, let the low end do its work, and try not to move.
