Silver Nugget Vinyl.

Background information about 'Self Hell'

While She Sleeps return with their most introspective and emotionally charged release yet on "Self Hell", a record that finds the Sheffield metalcore veterans diving deep into themes of mental health, personal struggle, and societal pressures. The album showcases the band's evolution from their earlier, more straightforward metalcore approach into something more nuanced and atmospheric, while still maintaining the crushing heaviness that made them household names in the UK metal scene. Tracks like "Peace Of Mind" and "Wildfire" demonstrate their ability to balance melodic sensibilities with bone-crushing breakdowns, creating an emotional rollercoaster that feels both cathartic and devastating.

The collaborative nature of this release really shines through with features from Aether on "No Feelings Is Final", Fin Power from Stone on "Dopesick", and Malevolence on "Down" - each guest appearance adding a unique flavor while never overshadowing the core While She Sleeps sound. The album's production is crisp and modern, allowing every element from Loz Taylor's soaring vocals to the crushing low-end to breathe in the mix. Songs like "Radical Hatred / Radical Love" showcase the band's willingness to experiment with longer compositions and dynamic shifts, proving that metalcore can be both accessible and artistically ambitious.
