Background information about 'Shark Attack'

Let's get one thing straight from the jump: Wehrmacht did not come to make friends, they came to leave a crater. Shark Attack is the kind of record that grabs you by the collar within the first thirty seconds and simply refuses to let go. This is thrash played at hardcore velocity, all razor-wire riffs and a rhythm section that sounds like it's actively trying to escape the studio. The title track alone is a masterclass in controlled chaos, and "Jabberjaw" is the sort of absurd, grinning anthem that only a band this unhinged could pull off without sounding like a parody.

What makes this reissue genuinely essential is the second disc. The Thrash Metal Demo/Rehearsal 1985 material is a time capsule of pure, unfiltered aggression, raw and nasty in exactly the way demos should be. Then you get the full live set from Pine St. Theatre in Portland, January 1986, and it's an absolute riot. "Beermacht" and "Suck My Dick" capture a band at the peak of their beer-soaked, middle-finger-to-everything powers. There's a joy here that a lot of modern thrash has simply forgotten how to summon.
