Background information about 'Decay'
From the depths of Charlotte, North Carolina comes a sonic revelation that'll leave you breathless. Wretched has returned with "Decay" – a conceptual masterpiece that showcases why they've been one of metal's most compelling forces since 2005. This isn't just another album; it's a prequel to their acclaimed "Beyond the Gate", weaving together existential dread, D&D-inspired mythology, and raw human emotion into something truly extraordinary.
The band's evolution from And Since Forgotten to their Victory Records era classics like "The Exodus of Autonomy" and "Cannibal" has led to this moment under Metal Blade Records. "Decay" demonstrates their mastery of blending melodic death metal with progressive complexity, creating haunting melodies that burrow deep into your consciousness. Each track flows seamlessly into the next, building a narrative that explores themes of personal loss and mythological grandeur with equal intensity.
