Background information about 'Beyond The Wandering Moon'
"Beyond the Wandering Moon" by Aeternus is a seminal piece of black metal history, first unleashed upon the world in 1997. Emerging from the fertile and frostbitten lands of Bergen, Norway, this album encapsulates the raw and atmospheric essence that defines Norwegian black metal. Aeternus crafted a sound that was both brutal and melodic, combining relentless riffs with haunting melodies to create an oppressive yet captivating atmosphere. The lyrical themes traverse mystical realms and ancient landscapes, painting vivid pictures of battles and legends through a chilling sonic landscape.
This reissue on clear double vinyl breathes new life into this classic masterwork, allowing listeners to once again lose themselves in its brooding depths. From the opening strains of "Under the Blade of the Dead," the album immerses its audience in a journey through darkness and myth. Tracks like "Vind" and "Winter Tale" showcase Aeternus' ability to juxtapose aggression with ethereal beauty, creating an experience that is as much about mood as it is about music. This limited edition pressing offers both collectors and new fans an opportunity to experience "Beyond the Wandering Moon" in all its grim glory.
