The lyrics are based on historical events and legends from their Belarusian homeland and frequently cite the country's classic literature. The musical fervor of composer Jauhien Charkasau and singer Katsiaryna "Nokt Aeon" Mankevich was ignited by the news that Belarusian writer Svetlana Alexievich had received the Nobel Prize in Literature.
