Background information about 'Asche EP'
Following their highly successful tour in early 2011, Agrypnie delivers "Asche EP" as a tantalizing preview of their upcoming full-length album. This atmospheric black metal offering showcases two brand new compositions alongside three previously unreleased tracks, creating a bridge between the band's established sound and their evolving artistic vision. The collaboration with renowned ambient artist Mathias Grassow adds layers of haunting atmosphere that perfectly complement Agrypnie's melancholic approach to extreme metal.
What makes this EP particularly fascinating is the inclusion of a demo version of "Augenblick", providing listeners with a rare glimpse into the band's creative process from rough initial recordings to polished final versions. With a runtime extending beyond 40 minutes, "Asche EP" offers substantial content that feels more like a mini-album than a traditional EP. The six tracks flow seamlessly from the opening "Gnosis" through the contemplative "Erwachen" and the experimental "1.10#06+0.35", culminating in the cosmic journey of "Kosmos [Omega]".
