Throughout history, women have often borne heavier burdens during times of need. On their tenth album, "Ruby Red," the San Francisco-based quartet Amber Asylum poignantly reflects on turbulent times. The four musicians blend instrumental passages with evocative lyrics, merging laments and introspective sorrow with powerful songwriting that evokes both despair and hope.
