Background information about 'Teufelsgeist'
Urfaust returns with their most intoxicating statement yet – "Teufelsgeist" stands as a masterpiece of ambient darkness that captures the very essence of spiritual descent. This isn't just another album; it's a sonic vessel designed to transport listeners through the stages of intoxication, from euphoric heights to spiraling delirium. The Dutch masters have crafted something truly extraordinary here, weaving their signature pounding drums and otherworldly vocals into an ambient tapestry that feels both meditative and menacing.
The album's conceptual brilliance lies in its duality – Geist ist Teufel, Teufel ist Geist. Urfaust has orchestrated these 34 minutes to perfection, creating what they describe as the ultimate soundtrack for ritual drinking. Recorded once again at De Bunker with their longtime collaborator Deportator, every element feels deliberately placed to enhance the album's hypnotic pull. The artwork by Karmazid perfectly complements this journey into intoxicated mysticism, while the accompanying premium gin collaboration adds an extra layer of authenticity to the experience.
