Background information about 'The Crusher'
When Amon Amarth unleashed "The Crusher" in 2001, they weren't just delivering another death metal album - they were forging a battle hymn that would become legendary among the Viking metal faithful. This remastered vinyl edition captures every thunderous moment of the Swedish warriors' third full-length assault, from the opening salvo of "Bastards Of A Lying Breed" to the crushing finale. The album showcases the band's signature blend of melodic death metal brutality and Norse mythology, with Johan Hegg's growls narrating tales of ancient battles while the twin guitar attack of Olavi Mikkonen and Johan Söderberg weaves intricate melodies through the chaos.
The production on this vinyl remaster brings new life to classics like "Masters Of War" and "The Sound Of Eight Hooves", allowing every crushing riff and thundering drum beat to resonate with the power they deserve. The bonus track "Eyes Of Horror" adds extra value to this essential reissue, making it a must-have for both longtime fans and newcomers to the Viking metal realm. This is Amon Amarth at their most focused and ferocious, before they became stadium conquerors but already masters of their craft.
