Background information about 'With Oden On Our Side'
Amon Amarth delivers another crushing blow to the melodic death metal scene with "With Oden On Our Side", an album that perfectly captures the Swedish quintet's signature blend of mythological storytelling and bone-crushing riffs. This seventh studio effort sees the band at their most confident, weaving tales of Norse mythology through nine tracks of relentless aggression and melodic brilliance. From the opening assault of "Valhall Awaits Me" to the epic closing of "Prediction Of Warfare", every moment feels like a battle cry echoing through ancient halls.
The album showcases Johan Hegg's commanding growls perfectly complemented by the twin guitar attack of Olavi Mikkonen and Johan Söderberg, while the rhythm section pounds like Thor's hammer throughout. Tracks like "Asator" and the title track "With Oden On Our Side" demonstrate the band's ability to craft memorable hooks without sacrificing their brutal edge. The production is crisp and powerful, allowing every instrument to shine while maintaining that raw energy that makes Amon Amarth so compelling.
