Background information about 'La Raza (Re-Issue)'
There are albums that age like fine wine, and then there are albums that hit you like a sledgehammer right out of the gate — Armored Saint's La Raza belongs firmly in the latter category. Originally released in 2010, this record marked a ferocious comeback for the California heavy metal stalwarts, and this re-issue on white/black marbled vinyl gives it the physical treatment it damn well deserves.
From the opening riff of Loose Cannon, it's clear that John Bush and company came back with something to prove. The production is punchy, the riffs are razor-sharp, and the energy never lets up. Tracks like Head On and Left Hook From Right Field showcase the band's uncanny ability to blend old-school metal grit with a modern, muscular sound. La Raza the title track is a slow-burning anthem that builds to an absolute crescendo, while Black Feet and Bandit Country keep the adrenaline pumping with their relentless groove. This isn't a nostalgia trip — it's a band firing on all cylinders, proving that true heavy metal never goes out of style.
