Background information about 'Punching The Sky'
Armored Saint delivers an absolute powerhouse with "Punching The Sky", their eighth studio album that proves these Los Angeles metal legends are far from done throwing haymakers. After a five-year hiatus, John Bush and company return with a collection of tracks that seamlessly blend their classic heavy metal roots with a modern edge that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly current. The album showcases the band's signature melodic sensibilities while maintaining the aggressive punch that made them underground darlings in the 80s scene.
From the opening thunder of "Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants" to the anthemic closer "Never You Fret", this record demonstrates why Armored Saint has maintained such a devoted following throughout their career. Bush's vocals soar with the same passion and range that made Symbol of Salvation a classic, while the guitar work of Phil Sandoval and Jeff Duncan creates a perfect storm of crushing riffs and soaring melodies. The rhythm section locks in tight, providing the foundation for some of the most memorable hooks the band has crafted in years.
