Emerging from Aachen's underground scene in 2012, Fjort has established themselves as one of Germany's most compelling voices in contemporary post-hardcore. The band's distinctive approach merges melodic hardcore foundations with emotional depth that transcends conventional genre boundaries, creating a sound that resonates deeply within the European hardcore community while maintaining the authentic spirit of the German underground.

The band's initial EP, Demontage (2012, Truelove Entertainment), already showcased remarkable musical maturity, immediately catching attention within the German scene. This self-produced EP served as a blueprint for their subsequent evolution, establishing Fjort quickly. Their signature vocal approach, alternating between melodic passages and intense screams, became a defining characteristic that clearly distinguished them from contemporary acts.

The debut album D'accord, released in 2014 via This Charming Man Records, marked the band’s first major step. The production expertly balances technical precision with raw emotional energy, while the songwriting demonstrates sophisticated arrangements that maintain accessibility without sacrificing complexity. Following this, the band transitioned to the Hamburg-based label Grand Hotel van Cleef (GHVC), where they released the albums Kontakt (2016) and Couleur (2017). The latter peaked at No. 24 on the German album charts.

With Nichts (2022, GHVC Records), Fjort demonstrated a significant artistic evolution, firmly cementing their position within the German post-hardcore spectrum. The album showcased a refined approach to both songwriting and production while retaining the visceral intensity of their earlier work, and notably reached No. 8 on the German charts. This progression culminates in their anticipated fifth studio album, Belle Époque (due February 20, 2026, GHVC Records). Announced with the single "'43," the album is set to be the band’s most lyrically expansive work, continuing their critical engagement with societal themes.
