Background information about 'V: The Devil's Fire (Re-Release)'
Finnish black metal veterans Baptism return with their fifth full-length offering, "V: The Devil's Fire", proving once again why they're considered one of Finland's most prominent extreme metal acts. This isn't just another black metal album - it's a masterclass in balancing raw, unbound musical fierceness with epic melodies that lurk beneath the shredding onslaught. The band has managed to create something that feels both familiar and fresh, staying true to Finnish black metal orthodoxy while raising the stakes considerably.
What makes this release particularly special are the guest appearances from members of Swallow The Sun, Horna, and Demilich, adding extra layers of authenticity and depth to an already impressive sonic assault. The majestic atmospheres weave through tracks like "Satananda" and "Cold Eternity", while maintaining that signature rawness that black metal purists crave. There's no stagnation here, no senseless nostalgia - just pure, evolved black metal that respects its roots while pushing boundaries.
