Background information about 'Shadow Play'
Drudkh, the Ukrainian masters of atmospheric and pagan black metal, return with 'Shadow Play'. This album delves into a rich tapestry of themes such as exile, the rhythmic dance between life and death, and a deep longing for one's roots. Its profound narrative invites listeners into a world where quietude clashes with turmoil and luminosity entwines with obscurity. The six-track odyssey begins with "Scattering the Ashes", which evokes introspective melancholy. "April" follows, enveloping the listener in a meditative trance. "The Exile" captures the essence of displacement, while "Fallen Blossom" continues this poignant journey. "The Eve" offers contemplative reflections on life's fleeting beauty before "The Thirst" concludes the exploration with profound yearning. A must for fans of Agalloch, Winterfylleth, and Saor.
