Background information about 'Ethereal Horizons (B-Stock)'

Man, what a journey this has been! Blut Aus Nord returns with their 16th full-length offering, and honestly, "Ethereal Horizons" feels like the perfect culmination of three decades worth of sonic exploration. Vindsval has crafted something truly special here - this isn't just another avant-garde black metal release, it's like watching a master painter finally reveal their magnum opus after years of sketching in the margins. The album beautifully weaves together the earthen brutality and futuristic elements that have defined the band's legacy, creating this incredible vessel for dark dreaming that soars into vivid, otherworldly realms.

After diving deep into Lovecraftian territories on recent releases, this guitar-forward approach feels refreshingly organic and intoxicating, reminiscent of the cosmic brilliance we heard on "Memoria Vetusta III: Saturnian Poetry" and "Hallucinogen". The melodic themes here are absolutely mesmerizing - they twist inward and outward with this prog-rock sensibility that's totally unexpected yet completely natural. Those swirling psych-organ passages and expansive kosmische synth work create this warm foundation for the band's signature ruthlessness to build upon. Vindsval's vocal approach is wider-ranging than ever, incorporating those distinctive cloudbusting cleans and transcendent melodies that'll stick with you for days.
