About the album
Gràb's second album, "Kremess," continues to explore the rich tapestry of Bavarian Black Metal, a genre that founder Grànt has meticulously crafted to reflect the cultural and musical heritage of the German Alps. The album title translates to "Funeral Feast" in English, indicating its thematic preoccupation with death and mourning. The band's lyrical narrative remains firmly grounded in regional dialects, imbuing their music with an authentic, almost folkloric quality. Musically, "Kremess" is steeped in traditional Black Metal influences from both Nordic stalwarts such as Gehenna and Ulver, as well as German pioneers like Nagelfar and Lunar Aurora. The inclusion of acoustic instruments alongside the iconic hackbrett adds a layer of complexity to their soundscape.
The introduction of English guitarist Gnàst injects fresh perspectives into the band's sonic palette, further enriched by contributions from guest musicians affiliated with Empyrium, Triptykon, and Dark Fortress. This collaboration results in a dynamic evolution of Gràb's sound—a fusion of archaic atmospheres with contemporary vigor. Initially introduced through their debut album "Zeitlang" in 2021, Gràb has consistently strived to rejuvenate early Black Metal's essence while carving out a distinct niche marked by Bavarian undertones. With "Kremess," they not only preserve this tradition but also propel it forward into uncharted territories.

About the album
GRÀB offers both continuity and change on their second album "Kremess". This Bavarian black metal project founded by vocalist Grànt continues to lyrically explore stories and traditions told in the dialect of the German alpine region. The title "Kremess" translates to "funeral feast" in High German, with death again playing a significant role in this album. Musically, the album features the traditional hammered dulcimer alongside other acoustic instruments and draws influences from early Nordic black metal bands like Gehenna, Ulver, and Darkthrone, as well as German pioneers like Nagelfar and Lunar Aurora. With the addition of English guitarist Gnàst, replacing previous songwriter Grain, new ideas and sounds are introduced to GRÀB's Bavarian-black soundscape. A number of guest musicians from bands such as Empyrium, Triptykon, and Dark Fortress further enrich the musical spectrum.
GRÀB translates to "old and grey" in Bavarian dialect rather than "grave," conceived by former Dark Fortress frontman Grànt to give black metal an unmistakably Bavarian twist. The initial collaboration between Grànt and guitarist Grain resulted in the release of the debut album "Zeitlang" in 2021, which revived the spirit of early black metal to the delight of critics and fans alike. With "Kremess," GRÀB infuses their Bavarian black metal with new musical vigor pointing towards a promising future.

About the album
With their debut album "The Land under the Black Wings: Swamp", Dymna Lotva introduced a distinctly Belarusian element into the black metal scene in 2016. The founding duo immediately presented an elaborate concept designed as the first part of a trilogy. The lyrics are based on historical events and legends from their Belarusian homeland and frequently cite the country's classic literature. The musical fervor of composer Jauhien Charkasau and singer Katsiaryna "Nokt Aeon" Mankevich was ignited by the news that Belarusian writer Svetlana Alexievich had received the Nobel Prize in Literature. Their first song was created using quotes from Lyudmila Ignatenko, widow of a Chernobyl liquidator. Her husband's story also heavily inspired the HBO series "Chernobyl".
Their second album, "Wormwood", released in 2017, revisited the Chernobyl theme. Post-Wormwood, both founding members had to flee their homeland due to political persecution and censorship by the Lukashenko regime. The trilogy continued with "The Land under the Black Wings: Blood", expanding its musical scope toward doom and more traditional tones while maintaining its foundation in Nordic black metal. Dymna Lotva's unique sound is defined by Katsiaryna's passionate vocals and Slavonic elements in guitarist Jauhien's compositions.

About the album
With their debut album "The Land under the Black Wings: Swamp" ("Зямля пад чорнымі крыламі: Дрыгва"), Dymna Lotva introduced a fresh perspective to Black Metal in 2016, infusing it with distinct Belarusian elements. This conceptual masterpiece, envisioned as the first part of a trilogy, draws from historical events and legends of Belarus, echoing the country's classical literature. The creative spark ignited by the news of Belarusian author Svetlana Alexievich receiving the Nobel Prize in Literature led to the band's first song, inspired by quotes from Lyudmila Ignatenko, widow of a Chernobyl liquidator, whose story also significantly influenced HBO's "Chernobyl" series. Their sophomore album "Wormwood" ("Палын") revisited the Chernobyl theme in 2017.
After its release, political persecution forced founding members to flee their homeland. Continuing their trilogy with "The Land under the Black Wings" ("Зямля Пад Чорнымі Крыламі: Кроў"), Dymna Lotva expanded their sound towards Doom and traditional tones while retaining Nordic Black Metal roots. Katsiaryna "Nokt Aeon" Mankevich's vocal prowess combined with guitarist Jauhien Charkasau's Slavic compositions create Dymna Lotva's unique sound. The band's name, meaning "Swamp in Smoke," reflects the tragic events surrounding burned villages in Polesia—a swamp region along the Pripyat River now divided among four countries.
