Background information about 'Harbinger Of Woe'

Twenty years. That's how long death metal maniacs have been waiting for Brodequin to unleash their next torrent of brutality, and "Harbinger of Woe" delivers every ounce of that pent-up savagery. The Bailey brothers – Jamie and Mike – haven't just returned; they've come back swinging sledgehammers forged in the fires of medieval torture chambers. This fourth full-length doesn't mess around with pleasantries or gradual build-ups. From the moment "Diabolical Edict" tears through your speakers, you're thrust into a relentless maelstrom of grinding riffs and punishing blast beats that feel like being trampled by armored cavalry.

The production on this beast hits that sweet spot where every instrument cuts through the mix like a freshly sharpened blade, yet maintains that crushing wall-of-sound density that makes your chest cavity vibrate. New drummer Brennan Shackelford proves he's more than worthy of carrying the torch, delivering percussive punishment that would make ancient executioners weep with joy. Tracks like "Of Pillars and Trees" showcase the band's ability to craft memorable hooks within their trademark chaos, while "Vredens Dag" demonstrates their mastery of dynamic shifts that keep you guessing where the next crushing blow will land. The artwork by José de Brito perfectly captures the album's medieval brutality theme, making this not just an auditory assault but a complete aesthetic experience.
