Background information about 'Sweet Evil Sun'

Swedish doom metal legends Candlemass return with their monumental eleventh studio album "Sweet Evil Sun", a crushing testament to their enduring mastery of the genre they helped define. The album showcases the band's signature blend of thunderous riffs, operatic vocals, and apocalyptic atmospheres that have made them icons of epic doom metal for over three decades. From the opening track "Wizard Of The Vortex" to the haunting closer "A Cup Of Coffin (Outro)", every moment drips with the dark majesty that only Candlemass can deliver.

The standout collaboration "When Death Sighs" featuring Avatarium adds an ethereal dimension to the record, while tracks like "Black Butterfly" and "Scandinavian Gods" demonstrate the band's ability to weave mythology and melancholy into crushing musical narratives. Vocalist Johan Langquist delivers some of his most powerful performances here, soaring over the crushing guitar work that defines the Candlemass sound. This is doom metal at its most refined and devastating, proving that after all these years, Candlemass remains the undisputed masters of their craft.
