Background information about 'Bronco'
Hailing from the rugged coastal region of Cape Fear, North Carolina, BRONCO's self-titled debut album is a visceral journey into the depths of Doom Metal and Southern Sludge. Drawing inspiration from the unforgiving landscape of rocky cliffs and pirate coves, this record embodies rawness and authenticity. The band's sound is unapologetically heavy, with crawling riffs and aggressive vocals that capture the essence of their coastal origins. Emerging from the ashes of TOKE, after guitarist Tim Bryan's tragic accident in 2021, BRONCO channels their grief into a powerful musical statement. Their music bears resemblance to fellow North Carolinian acts like WEEDEATER and SOUR VEIN but with its own distinct flavor.
"Bronco" is an exploration of grim self-reflection and acceptance of life's disappointments. Each track drips with a gritty blend of melancholy and defiance, offering listeners a cathartic experience. The album not only builds on TOKE's legacy but also pushes boundaries by experimenting with new elements. It's a brutal yet captivating collection that stands out for its unwavering individuality.
