Background information about 'Bloodthirst'

There are albums that define a genre, and then there are albums that simply refuse to let you breathe. Cannibal Corpse delivered exactly that in 1999 with Bloodthirst, a record that didn't just solidify their throne as the reigning kings of death metal — it welded them to it. From the very first lurching riff, this is a relentless sonic assault, the kind of record that grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go until the needle lifts. The songwriting here is ferociously technical, yet never loses that primal, gut-level groove that makes death metal so viscerally addictive.

The tracklist reads like a greatest hits of brutality: Pounded Into Dust opens with a demolition-hammer urgency, Unleashing The Bloodthirsty is an anthem of pure menace, and Hacksaw Decapitation remains one of the most gloriously unhinged cuts the band ever committed to tape. George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher's guttural roar is in absolute peak form, while Alex Webster's bass work churns underneath like some subterranean engine. This is precision violence, executed by the most dependable wrecking crew in extreme music.

Now, this picture disc edition brings the album's morbid, visceral imagery roaring to life in a way a standard sleeve simply can't. The artwork spins with the record, turning the whole thing into a tangible, spinning monument to gore-soaked artistry. It's the kind of piece that demands to be framed on a wall or spun loud enough to rattle the neighbors.
