Background information about 'The Eternal Hunger'
Rising from the putrid ashes of Swedish death metal outliers Morbus Chron, Harrowed unleash their devastating debut full-length that's equal parts crushing brutality and twisted innovation. "The Eternal Hunger" sees the Stockholm sewer dwellers delivering maggot-ridden death metal that seamlessly blends classic Autopsy worship with Entombed's chainsaw fury, all "funneled through a garbage disposal" as one astute observer noted.
This eight-track nightmare showcases Harrowed's evolution from their raw demo beginnings into a more nuanced but equally devastating force. The songwriting exhibits remarkable variety, with each track possessing the potential to rupture eardrums and crack skulls while plunging listeners head-first into a darkened abyss of crushing riffs and nightmarish horrors. The production, handled by Robert Pehrsson at Studio Humbucker, achieves that perfect balance of clarity and vintage rawness that stays true to death metal's original spirit without falling into HM2 copycat territory.
