Background information about 'In The Embrace Of Evil'

"In the Embrace of Evil" stands as a crucial compilation that brings together the best of Swedish death metal legends Grotesque. This release combines remixed tracks from their legendary Incantation EP with remastered material from the never-released In the Embrace of Evil demo, plus two exclusive tracks recorded specifically for this compilation by Tomas Lindberg, Alf Svensson, and Kristian Wåhlin in 1996. The result is a comprehensive look at one of Sweden's most influential extreme metal acts during their formative years.

What makes this collection so compelling is how Grotesque masterfully blend the brutal technicality of early Morbid Angel with the atmospheric darkness of black metal and the aggressive edge of thrash. Songs like "Thirteen Bells Of Doom" and "Blood Runs From The Altar" showcase their ability to create an extremely pleasing performance of extreme metal that feels both familiar and refreshingly dark. This truly is a lost gem of metal that deserves recognition alongside the classic Swedish death metal canon.

For fans of: Morbid Angel, early At The Gates, Necrophobic, and Dismember
