Background information about 'Kill'

There are albums that simply exist, and then there are albums that grab you by the throat and refuse to let go. "Kill" is very much the latter. When Cannibal Corpse dropped this beast in 2006, the death metal world collectively remembered why this Florida institution had spent over a decade and a half at the top of the genre's blood-soaked food chain. Their tenth studio record, produced with razor precision by Hate Eternal mastermind Erik Rutan, is the sound of a veteran band rediscovering the sheer joy of violence.

Thirteen tracks, zero mercy. From the opening bell of "The Time To Kill Is Now" straight through to the closing crawl of "Infinite Misery," this is a relentless masterclass in brutality. George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher sounds absolutely possessed, his guttural roar slicing through Rutan's crisp, punishing production like a chainsaw through bone. The rhythm section of Alex Webster and Paul Mazurkiewicz locks into grooves so tight they could crush concrete, while guitarists Pat O'Brien and Rob Barrett carve out riff after riff of pure, undeniable menace. "Make Them Suffer" and "Murder Worship" are instant classics, but honestly, there isn't a single moment of filler here. This is death metal at its most focused, most ferocious, and most unapologetically fun.

What makes "Kill" so essential is how it bridges the old school and the new. The songwriting is lean and surgical, the production modern without ever sounding sterile, and the band's signature blend of technicality and pure groove has never been sharper. This is the album that reminded everyone Cannibal Corpse weren't just legends of the past, they were still one of the most devastating forces in extreme music, period.
