Background information about 'Feed the Vault'
"Feed the Vault" is the second full-length from Carnal Ghoul, and it lands like a wrecking ball swung with genuine joy. The German crew built their debut under the weight of loss and sorrow; here they sound reborn, sharper, hungrier, and absolutely certain of what they want to be. Every riff is a brick in a wall of old school death metal, and every wall comes down on your head. The production is thick and meaty without ever turning into mush, giving the guitars room to snarl while the low end punches straight through the floor.
What really pushes this record over the edge is the songwriting. Carnal Ghoul know that brutality alone gets boring, so they lace the fury with hooks that stick and melodies that creep in sideways. Tracks like the title cut and "No Mercy for the Weak" swagger with a confidence that only comes from players who have been around the block a few times. And then there is the voice: Lennart "Lenny" Osterhus of Endseeker joining permanently is the blood-red cherry on top, a growl with real character and menace. The whole thing feels like a basement full of friends who happen to be frighteningly good at their instruments, raising a glass and then flattening everything in sight.
For fans of: Entombed, Dismember, Grave, Endseeker, Asphyx
