Background information about 'Feed the Vault'

Carnal Ghoul are back, and "Feed the Vault" hits like a wrecking ball swung by people who genuinely love this stuff. The German outfit's second full-length is a sweaty, beer-soaked love letter to old school death metal, and this time around they have sharpened every single blade. Where the debut leaned into loss and sorrow, this one charges forward with a swagger that is impossible to fake. The riffs are thick and greasy, the production finally gives the low end the punch it deserves, and the whole record sounds like it was tracked in a room where the walls are sweating.

The big news is the permanent addition of Endseeker frontman Lennart "Lenny" Osterhus behind the mic, and his voice fits like a fist in a glove — all gravel, venom and grim humour. Guitarist Daniel Jakobi (Lay Down Rotten, Milking the Goatmachine, Demonbreed) and drummer Stefan "Husky" Hüskens (Desaster, Sodom, Asphyx) clearly bonded over a shared worship of the classic Swedish sound, and you can hear that obsession in every downpicked riff and every d-beat that kicks you in the ribs. "Back to Decay" opens the gates, "Lovely Fucking Day" grins through broken teeth, and the title track drags you down into the cellar and locks the door behind you. Brutal hooks, cunning melodies, zero filler.

For fans of: Endseeker, Entombed, Dismember, Grave, Bloodbath, Asphyx
